Identity & lore
Lineage overview
Rabbitfolk are a resilient subrace of the Chimera, predominantly hailing from the slums of Northi and Westria. Historically looked down on by the Catfolk, they continue to face prejudice from some older-minded individuals who view them as inferior. Rabbitfolk often have incredibly large families and very deep ties to community and to support themselves, they tend to take on less desirable jobs throughout the city. It is not uncommon for entire businesses to be run by extended families of Rabbitfolk or by joint community ventures. Due to this focus on family and community, Rabbitfolk tend to create very strong bonds with any companions they spend long periods of time with. It is not unheard of for long-time coworkers, school friends, or adventuring companions to suddenly find themselves as “part of the family” and inducted into an expansive extended family. However, despite their industrious nature, persistent social stigma has driven many Rabbitfolk to seek alternative means of livelihood, sometimes turning to crime as a desperate measure to ensure their families' well-being.
At the helm of Mothergreen's infamous Lorenz Mafia is Fiona MacCocairy, a determined Rabbitfolk girl who strives to bring honor to the underworld. Fiona has initiated a battle of optics, working tirelessly to clean up the Mafia and institute strict codes of honor, thereby bringing a semblance of respect and legitimacy to even their criminal trade. Her efforts highlight the tragic reality that many Rabbitfolk's involvement in crime stems from a profound desire to provide for their loved ones at any cost. Playing a Rabbitfolk is ideal for players who wish to embody characters with large, extended families, expansive communities, and explore the underworld and adverse conditions.
