Cait Sith

Cait Sith are a rare subrace of the fae, distinguished by their dual forms and elusive nature within the realm of Lyr. Originating from the lands of Avalon, Cait Sith often appear as enchanting Fae adorned with delicate cat ears atop their heads, leading many to mistake them for the more common Catfolk. However, their true versatility is revealed in their ability to assume the form of an actual cat, a transformation that many Cait Sith embrace and many stay in for most of their lives. This shapeshifting capability allows them to seamlessly integrate into various environments, particularly human dwellings, where they often masquerade as beloved house cats. Their preference for a relaxed and lounging lifestyle reflects the tranquil culture of Avalon, where comfort and leisure are highly valued. In their feline guise, Cait Sith seek out the warmth and attention of humans, enjoying the care and adoration bestowed upon them.  Cait Sith are known to become irked when they do not receive the expected adoration, such as being left milk, leading them to orchestrate mischievous pranks on those who neglect their whims.

Despite their seemingly benign and playful demeanor, Cait Sith harbor a deep-seated animosity towards their mortal enemies, the Black Dogs, also known as Cu Sith. These shapeshifting dog Fae from Sylvan share an intense mutual detest, often culminating in deadly duels that underscore the severity of their rivalry. Beyond their playful tricks, Cait Sith possess a formidable and sinister ability to manipulate the life force of weakened enemies, using this dark magic as a potent weapon to eliminate threats. This unique combination of charm and lethal power makes Cait Sith both captivating and dangerous.
