Lineage overview
The Anubis are a unique race of Fae from the southwestern region of Telsin, known for their deep respect for life, death, and the natural order. With dark hair, bronze skin, and their unique Jackal-like ears, the Anubis see themselves as guardians of the living and the dead alike. While their own lifespans are exceptionally long, they hold a profound reverence for the brief lives of other beings, viewing them as precious gifts to be treasured even beyond death. This belief extends to the Anubis’ role in mediating spiritual affairs and protecting the deceased from desecration.
Renowned for their honesty and strong sense of karma, the Anubis possess an almost supernatural ability to discern lies, making them respected yet sometimes avoided as arbiters. Their ceremonial attire includes light-colored clothing, adorned with golden jewelry and polished river stones—symbols of lineage often passed down or given as offerings to the deceased.
Skilled at laying disturbed spirits to rest, they hold a complex relationship with necromancy, respecting it when practiced with reverence. Anubis Necromancers act as graveyard caretakers and conduct important funerary rites, roles woven into their cultural fabric and essential to their purpose across the region, which has garnered respect in spiritual circles even as far as Northi.
