Strategy
Westrian Heavy Paladins aim to charge towards the enemy backline with mounted charge, aiming to move through as many enemies as possible to get there. Once they are in melee range, they will use Divine Smite on each of their turns while their mana lasts. As Divine Shield is free, they will use it at the start of each turn.
Running this monster
A small group of around 4 heavy paladins would make a challenging encounter for a group of players. As they are mounted enemies, they benefit from an open fighting field and are unsuitable for indoor fights.
Heavy Paladins are intelligent creatures and veteran fighters. Don't be afraid to play them intelligently. If a paladin can hit a demon in their divine release state with their divine smite, they should always do so unless it would cause them to provoke too many attacks.
