Monster · Heroic Humanoid

Priest

Priests are spellcasters that draw their power from the gods. Due to the popularity and strength of Kari, the human goddess, the vast majority of priests in the world are human. However, priests of other races do still exist. Some may follow Kari, while others may follow their own god or goddess.

Strategy

A priest will want to play close to the frontlines to be in range for Angel’s Embrace. Once the melee’s of each side have engaged on combat, the priest can drop a hallowed ground in such a way that it affects all of their melee allies. Afterwards, they will focus on attacking and will use their remaining mana to cast Cure Touch once an ally (heroic allies only if there is any left) becomes low on HP.

Angel’s Embrace can be used to absorb big hits on allies, though the priest should stop using it unless to prevent a killing blow once their own RP becomes too low.

Running this monster

Priests are intended to be a base for generic heroic enemies that focus on being both a support and healer. They can be used for any race or situation and can easily be added to fit what you need. They are the heroic version of the ‘Acolyte’ generic enemy.

Priests can function with Grunt level allies, though their support will not be nearly as effective as when supporting heroic allies. They can function in a group with around 3 generic heroic level enemies like the Defender, Assassin etc.

Priests can use either a channeling weapon or a light melee weapon + shield. Priests can wear anything from no armor, light armor to medium armor. In the stat block above, a light melee weapon + shield and light armor is assumed.
