Gargoyle

Gargoyles are usually tied to an abandoned place made out of stone where they will lie dormant in their stone form until people approach. When living creatures get close enough, they will reveal themselves and attack them. The reason behind their hostility remains unclear, and most adventurers that don’t want to deal with them simply avoid their resting place.

Appearance
Gargoyles are medium sized creatures that at a first glance look like statues. Their skin is made of stone and they have a pair of small wings on their back.
Habitat
Found in abandoned places made out of stone.

Strategy

Gargoyles will start the fight by flying over the largest group of enemies and using Stone Form. After that, they will fight normally with light and heavy attacks unless they can use Stone Form again without provoking an attack of opportunity. They may use Stone Form even when on the ground if they are isolated and about to take many hits, especially if already low on RP.

Running this monster

A small group of gargoyles of around 3-4 will provide a good threat against an average party. Gargoyles should start from a higher point, like at the top of a church or something to let them engage with Stone Form on their terms. Half Pierce attacks completely counter Stone Form, as they ignore the extra guard it gives and the gargoyle can’t react to the attacks at all while in it.
