Monster · Grunt Humanoid

Acolyte

Acolytes are beginning spellcasters that draw their power from the gods. Due to the popularity and strength of Kari, the human goddess, the vast majority of acolyte’s in the world are human. However, acolytes of other races do still exist. Some may follow Kari, while others may follow their own god or goddess.

Strategy

Acolytes serve as frontliners that can heal themselves or allies. Cure Touch can be used immediately when an ally drops low enough to gain the full benefit from it. Acolytes should prioritize healing heroic allies over grunt allies.

Running this monster

Acolytes are intended to be a base for generic grunt enemies that focus on being a healer. They can be used for any race or situation and can easily be added to fit what you need. They are the grunt version of the ‘Priest’ generic enemy.

Acolytes can function with around 10 other Grunt level allies and 1 heroic ally to pose a light threat to a party. Can be combined with other generic enemies to create a balanced composition.

Acolytes can use either a channeling weapon or a light melee weapon + shield. Acolytes can wear anything from no armor, light armor to medium armor. In the stat block, a light melee weapon + shield and light armor is assumed.
