Grappling Hook Artifice

A handheld cylinder shaped artifice that fires out a pin with a 40ft rope attached to it. The pin attaches itself to any non-living surface it hits and it can support the weight of up to four people. The GM may require an accuracy check for distant or hard to hit surfaces.

After the pin is attached, you may spend 0 AP to reel yourself in and move towards where the pin is attached to. Any allies within 5ft of you may grab onto you and be moved alongside you for 0 RP (Up to 3 allies total).

Mods

• A mods:
  • Drive By Model (10 points): The Grappling Hook Artifice loses the ability to move allies, but you can now make attacks at any point while being reeled as long as you have actions. While you are moving in this way, you do not provoke attacks of opportunity.
  • Scorpion Tip (20 points): The range of the Grappling Hook Artifice is lowered to 20ft, but can be used to make a light attack that does exactly 1 damage with full pierce. On damage, the target can be pulled up to 20ft towards the user.
  • Swing Engine (35 points): The grappling hook artifice can be used to swing from the point the pin is embedded instead of pulling straight towards it, in addition the rope length is increased by 20ft. The pin automatically detaches and reels in when you move to your destination for smooth traveling.
• B mods:
  • Emergency Escape Reel (25 points): You may also fire this using 1 RP.
  • Heavy Tow Line (25 points): The grappling hook can support 1 additional ally to move with you.
  • Belt Attachment (50 points): The Grappling Hook Artifice is modified to be mounted onto the belt, allowing for operation while wielding items in both hands via a switch mounted on the arm.
  • Safety Hook (80 points): You and your allies movement with this artifice is considered a sidestep.
