Blacksmithing Base Materials

The base material for crafting items with blacksmithing is Iron. Iron units must be converted into an ingot before they can be used.

  • Iron:
    • Clim Cost per ingot: 300 Clim
    • Unit cost per ingot: 500 Iron units
    • Effect: None
    • When using Iron to craft an item, you must spend 1 ingot for a one handed weapon or tool, or 2 for a longsword or two handed weapon (or two handed tool).

Outside of iron, there are a variety of special materials that a blacksmith can use while crafting. These are more expensive, but grant stat bonuses

  • Tamahagane
    • Clim Cost per ingot: 1050 Clim
    • Unit cost per ingot: 2000 Tamahagane units.
    • Effect: +1 stat bonus
    • When using Tamahagane to craft an item, you must spend 1 ingot of Tamahagane. If making a two handed weapon, you must add an additional ingot of Iron.
  • Mithril
    • Clim Cost per ingot: 4050 Clim
    • Unit cost per ingot: 8000 Mithril units.
    • Effect: +1/+1 stat bonus
    • When using Mithril to craft an item, you must spend 1 ingot of Mithril. If making a two handed weapon, you must add an additional ingot of Iron.
  • Orichalcum
    • Clim Cost per ingot: 8050 Clim
    • Unit cost per ingot: 16000 Orihalcum units.
    • Effect: +2/+1 stat bonus
    • When using Orihalcum to craft an item, you must spend 1 ingot of Orihalcum. If making a two handed weapon, you must add an additional ingot of Iron.
  • Escudo
    • Clim Cost per ingot: 11550 Clim
    • Unit cost per ingot: 23000 Escudo units.
    • Effect: +2/+2 stat bonus
    • When using Escudo to craft an item, you must spend 1 ingot of Escudo. If making a two handed weapon, you must add an additional ingot of Iron.

Stat bonuses depend on if the crafted item is a tool or weapon.

Weapon: The Material bonuses to go Focus and Power. With getting a +1 bonus or a +2/+1 bonus, the crafter may choose which of the two stats gets the extra bonus.

Tool: For tools, there is a crafting bonus and a finish bonus. A crafting bonus gives you +1 (or +2) Material bonus to each crafting dice roll. The finish bonus gives you a +5 (or +10) Finish bonus once at the end of your craft.
