Class overview
There was a loud banging on the door. The spiderfolk sitting at the table inside the little house placed her pen on the table with a sigh. She made her way to the door and opened it, being greeted to the sight of several dozen people standing outside her place brandishing torches and makeshift weapons.
“Monster! Murderer! You’ll pay for what you did!”
Came the cries from the crowd of villagers, emboldened by the presence of a small group of better armed and armored people in front. “You can’t hide your crimes any longer, Dulcinea. Come with us, and we’ll ensure you get a fair trial.” Said the young man in front with a confident smile, clearly the leader of the small adventurer group.
The spider woman looked over the assembled group of people with annoyance rather than fear. She blinked once and one of her eight eyes began to glow in an eerie golden glow.
All in her gaze began to feel a sense of dread creeping over them, as if they suddenly realized they were trying to mess with someone far beyond their powers. A person turned around to run, and more began to follow.
They were too late.
Dulcinea blinked once more and two more of her eyes began to glow. The people felt their energy being sapped from them. Worse, they felt their very soul was being attacked by some dark magic. The screaming started.
The leader, now having realized what was happening, drew his sword and prepared to charge at the spider woman. He only made it a single step before his companions watched him slump to the floor, his sword falling from his grip. Beyond the body of their friend stood Dulcinea, with one of her main eyes now glowing a bright blue.
Two of the companions ran, fleeing into the sea of corpses from the villagers that lay there without any visible wounds. They made it further, but not far enough as they left the acolyte of Kari the only one alive of the group. She stood there, frozen in fear, as the spider approached her prey.
“Look into my eyes, it’s the last thing you’ll ever see.”
