Ability
Move Piece
Range: 60ft
Keywords: Killing Blow,Sidestep
You move a puppet piece you can see that's under your control. The way it moves depends on the type of piece. When a piece moves, it's a Sidestep.
Pawn: Moves up to 2 squares orthogonally or 1 square diagonally in a straight line.
Knight: Moves 1 square orthogonally, then 1 square diagonal in the same direction it moved in orthogonally (like a knight in chess). Can pass through allies and enemies.
Bishop: Moves up to 8 squares diagonally in a straight line.
Rook: Moves up to 8 squares orthogonally in a straight line.
Queen: Moves up to 8 squares orthogonally or diagonally in a straight line.
Except for the Knight, chess pieces cannot move through allies and stop their movement when they hit an object or creature. If this happens, it makes a Heavy attack that deals Physical(Bludgeoning) damage against that target with your stats. A knight that makes an attack and does not kill the target remains in its original spot.
On damage, a piece is promoted into a higher rank (Pawn -> Bishop/Knight -> Rook -> Queen). A queen cannot promote.
On Killing Blow, a piece occupies the square of the thing it attacked.
